Data Developer - Software Engineer (Pune, India)

POSITION SUMMARY

Data Developer – Software Engineer is strong technical individual with programming, software, and SQL database skills. He is able program scripts used for updating databases, transforming data, importing and exporting data, repairing data anomalies, automating Integration and deployment tasks, and assisting with change requests and deployments as necessary. The Data Developer will be responsible for dealing with all aspects of the data engineering/processing on a data pipeline.

You should be able to flexibly move from one project to another and prioritize in order to take care of the most pressing matters first. You should know how allocate tasks, as well as be able to delegate assignments to others when needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand business requirements and actively provide inputs from a Data perspective.
  • Understand the underlying data and flow of data.
  • Build simple pipelines & dataflows.
  • Recognize and adapt to the changes in processes as the project evolves in size and function.
  • Develops SQL scripts used to update data and migrate data across platforms or environments.
  • Provides custom reports or data outputs to customers using CSV, XML, JSON output, and other reporting tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

SKILLS NEEDED

  • Working knowledge of JAVA and Python programming language.
  • Analytic skills related to working with structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of SQL query language

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • 1+ years of experience in a data-engineering role.
  • 1+ years of experience in programming languages (e.g., JAVA, Python).
  • Knowledge of the pharma domain and understanding of the clinical trial process will be an added advantage.
  • Work with other stack modules like Data Lakes, Databricks, etc. in a plus

 

The Department Head has the discretion to hire personnel with a combination of experience and education which may vary from the above listed qualifications.
